One aim Emerges

One aim emerges sharp as day
As elemental, clean and full:
To write one line, hard, beautiful,
Simple and naked as the sky.

One aim alone, dominant as light:
Emotion caged but not destroyed.
Then issue through the windless void
A flash that lacerates the night!
