23 March 1972

Dear George:

Thank you very much for sending me
the novel. I have read it with great
pleasure - your best since ROSE FORBES.
Indeed I prefer it to ROSE. As you say
it should be re-read and I have done
exactly that. It is at least a decade
before its time, but I hope you have it
published here.

I enjoyed our session very much in-
deed. I am now in the midst of revising
a play for production in May. At the
moment I am very tired of it - and of the
whole atmosphere in Belfast.

With best wishes,

Ever

(John Boyd)
