With Eileen O'Casey\nre french Translations\n\n\n6th December 1977\n\nDear Eileen,\n\nI should have- written to you before this, but I have been\nfinishing a new play; my wife has been in hospital for a\nminor operation and 1 have been visiting her every day and\nevening, air. attending hospital myself for eye trouble -\nnot serious.\n\nFirst I want to thankk you for putting me in touch with\nEmile Dumay, who has just completed a translation of\nThe Flats and seems very pleased with it. I have not of\ncourse read it yet. However, a couple of french theatres are\nalready interested in it. It was very kind indeed of you\nto mention my name to . Dumay. My trouble about marketing\nmy play, is that I have not an Agent, and it's time that I\ngot one.\n\nThe other thing I wanted to tell you was that 'The Plough'\nis doing tremedous business at The lyric. The theatre is\npacked and the audiences art most enthusiastic. I understand\nthere was an article in 'The Listener' comparing the lyric\nproduction with the National Theatre(London) production, but\nI haven't read it yet. Probabiy you have. 'Juno' also got\nan excellent reception during its short visit here. So, all in\nall, it has been an o'Casey time in Belfast.\n\nI hope we can meet on my next visit to Dublin, and that you will\nhave a meal with me somewhere; the fact is I have been so\nbusy here I have hardly got beyond the suburbs of belfast.\nwhen I am tempted to go on a trip, 1 remember Sean's words\n'Get on with the bloody play'!\n\nWith many thanks again, and very best wishes for\nChristmas to your self - and all the family.\n\nYours ever,\n\nMrs.Eileen O'Casey,\n15 Mulgrave Terrace,\nDunlaoghaire,\nC.O.
