I have let\nHarold Goldblatt read it, and he has accepted it for the Group\nTheatre. You will see his pencil note on page I.\n\nYou will see I have changed Jamesy to Johnny: I thought\nthere would be some confusion between Jamesy and his father\nJames.\n\nI am very anxious indeed to know what you think of this,\nand I hope that I have been faithful to the theme and characters\nof the novel, I certainly enjoyed very much making this\nadaptation and would be grateful for your criticism.\n\nI am rushing off to London now where I shall be staying with\nBill Naughton, 64 St. George's Square until the morning of\n27th July. If you get an opportunity of reading this in the\nnext ten days or so perhaps you would forward it to 64 St.George\u2019s\nSquare. I am sending, it by registered post and enclose registered\nonvelope for its return. This is the only full copy in existence\nand I am heart scared of losing it.\n\nI hope your visit to Edinburgh to see the specialist turned\nout well. If by any chance you are in London during the next\nfortnight perhaps we could meet and have a meal, but I expect\nyou are working at home. I know your visits to London these\ndays are not too frequent.\n\nBest wishes,\n\nEver,\n\n(JOHN BOYD)\n\nDr. St.John Ervine,\nHoney Ditches,\nSeaton,\nDevon,\nEngland.\n\nPJ\n","Type":"Text"}}]
